Deutsche Telekom polako ostvaruje svoju Highlandersku parolu "There can be only one."

Nakon kupovine svega i svacega po cijelom svijetu, Deutsche Telekom nastavlja kupovinu i okupaciju cijelog svijeta. Sad je na redu ni manje ni vise nego British Telekom. Bivsi engleski monopolist i najjaci igrac u UK telekomunikacijama za tricavih 25 miljardi funti.

German group weighs up £25bn BT bid
DEUTSCHE TELEKOM, the German telecoms group, is examining the possibility of a bid for BT that could see the former monopoly valued at more than £25 billion, The Times has learnt.
It is understood that Deutsche Telekom, whose chief executive, Kai-Uwe Ricke, said that it was seeking to play an “active role” in consolidation in the European telecoms sector, feels that a tie-up could allow it to participate more effectively in the wave of “converged communications” tie-ups taking place across the industry.

No room for xenophobia in takeovers
ANGLO-GERMAN rivalry is deep rooted. Thankfully, the tasteless brand of war reminiscence has given way to less vituperative antagonism that finds vent on the football terraces. There is sometimes a sinister element in the soccer animosity but a large part of the antipathy is good natured. And if the Krauts are offended, it is not our fault they have no sense of humour. (That is a joke, by the way, meine Damen und Herren.)

Nakon tih vijesti nije cudna vijest da je BT uspio dobiti prava za emitiranje Premiership utakmica. Hehe, kao da ih je dobra magenta vila malo pomogla.

Telco BT has won rights to show Premiership football matches via broadband.
The matches will be shown 'near live', as BT optimistically terms it, at 22:00 on each match day.

Neka neka, bit ce Englezima drago da mogu gledati nogomet. Velika kolicina nogometa pozitivno utjece na percepciju zaposlenika u telekom industriji. Lijepo im uvalist veliku kolicinu nogometa i prodas im prico o njemackoj efikasnosti i kako ce biti fenomenalno kad DT kupit BT i podigne mu efikasnost. Pritom naravno presutis da povecanje efikasnosti znaci da jednaku kolicinu posla obavi manji broj ljudi, a to obicno znaci masovna otpustanja zaposlenika. Ali nece to zaposlenici BT-a primjetiti jer ce gledati nogometno prventsvo, a kad konacno i skuze sta im se desilo ... bit ce kasno. "Ein Telefon, ein Telekom, ein Broadband" to je konvergencija... hm... konsolicdacija... hm hm... krasnih li rijeci ali sta one u stvari znace tek cemo vidjeti.
